Aja Campbell is a long time friend - we met folding clothes at a SOHO boutique (can't believe that was almost 10 years ago!), and we also both happened to go to FIT. I'm proud to say that she is an Alexis Mera Brand Ambassador! What does that mean? I feel she radiates what we as a brand believe in. Being strong, being independent, making yourself happy, and working hard everyday to achieve your success. Keyword, YOUR success.
When I asked her what advice she would give her younger self (or a young girl), she said...
"If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be: Don't get so wrapped up in what other people think of you, as long as you're doing the right thing, the right people will fall into your circle. Just stay confident and be yourself, because nothing is more of a deterrent to the shitty people that might cross your path than a confident woman who knows what she's bringing to the table."
I totally agree! I think so many girls/women are so wrapped up in what they think they are "supposed" to be, that they just forget to be themselves.
Aja was born and raised in Queens, NY- where she still resides. In December, she left her full- time job in Food & Beverage PR to follow two of her biggest passions in life; fitness and doing makeup. When she's not coaching classes at CrossFit Clearview in Bayside, Queens - she stays busy doing fashion editorial and wedding makeup. And when she's not working out or painting faces, she loves to take the time to enjoy a fine brew (anything Ommegang, Lagunitas, or Empire will hit the spot) at one of her favorite bars or restaurants or cooking for friends & family. One of the main reasons she became a CrossFit Trainer was to help people find the confidence they might have lost along the way in life- that's what her coaches helped do for her.
